Edison's Inn

Unique and very clean rooms made for an enjoyable stay but be aware of the number of stairs.

Pros: Property was exactly as advertised....rooms are very clean and well appointed. We booked all 3 rooms for our weekend stay and were happy with each one. There is no on-site staff but the check in process went smoothly and the lock codes for all doors worked well.

Cons: As noted on the website, parking is a distance away from the property. In the summer months this would not be an issue but in the winter it does present a bit of a challenge navigating the snowy (when we were there) streets. Also there are A LOT of stairs to get to any of the rooms and (again as noted in the property description) no elevator. This could make the property very difficult to access for some people.

Very nice room in good location

Pros: The room was bright and gave a friendly impression. The bathroom was nice and bright as well. TV worked excellent. The WiFi was great as well. Even some books were on a shelf including some concerning Edison. There was also a coffee machine in the room. The location is excellent. The theatres can be reached by foot within 5 to 10 minutes. Restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner are close. A free Parking space is provided for each of the 3 rooms of Edison Inn.

Cons: We had a bit trouble finding Edison Inn and getting to our room as a code was required. Information was sent by e-mail. As I had not checked it before departure and as we do not have data we had to phone. A nice lady provided all necessary information. Just a reminder: We did not see an elevator. For guests who have trouble with stairs, it would not be so good.

Wonderful stay. Not so easy to find as door is not recognizable and our assigned parking spot taken.

Pros: I loved the eclectic style and design of the room, the spaciousness and the proximity to restaurants. Truly a unique experience.

Cons: Parking. Difficult to find and our designated spot was taken by another vehicle. We had to park in the police lot hoping not to get a ticket or tow.

A perfect choice for my shorty stay visit to Stratford

Pros: Great location, cute comfortable room with just the perfect amount of amenities. Historic building! I slept where Thomas Edison slept!

Cons: Parking is a little far away

Edison Inn was everything that we needed

Pros: We loved the efficient entrance information sent to my mobile phone ------ very clear, so we had no difficulty entering our room. The room was comfortable and perfect for our needs. Printed restaurant information on the wall for restaurants close by was so helpful.

Cons: There was nothing we disliked about the type of accommodation we required for an overnight theatre stay. It met all our needs for the evening and night. The room had air conditioning, it was quiet and very comfortable.

Great location for a trip to the Festival!

Pros: Edison's is a great location for an overnight stay in Stratford, especially if you are attending any of the shows at the Stratford Festival -- just down the street from the Avon Theatre. The rooms (we have stayed in both over the years) are spacious, comfortable, great comfy beds and relatively quiet being on major streets in Stratford.

Cons: Unfortunately, the room was not cleaned and ready for us upon our arrival -- even though we did not \

Ideal location for couples

Pros: Excellent location, especially for Tom Patterson theater. Easy self-checkin with smooth communications. Rooms hotel-sized but more nicely appointed. Walking distance to restaurants and river. Just right for a couple. We'd stay again.

Cons: Quite a few stairs to the rooms. A little road noise.

Great value for money, central location and very clean!

Pros: My friend and I had such a good time here!! We felt really safe as female travellers because the doors lock at several points to enter the building and it’s in a very central location of stratford’s downtown area. The room door’s lock is a bit finicky but we figured out that you need to wait a second after punching in the code for it to unlock. Everything was clean and well maintained! We went for strolls in the morning and could pop back inside if we needed to rest. It’s a small room, but they’ve made really good use of the space such as placing the bed with plug outlets on each side. Communication was great. We found the included parking spot to be especially useful as it was close by and available 2 hours before check-in time. I’d stay here again!

Cons: I don’t recommend more than two people to stay in this room. I would have liked it more if they had a microwave and a bigger fridge.

Room was big and airy with really nice seating area

Pros: Location was ideal for overnight stay to take in a show and meal out. Although parking is a block away, it is a reserved spot and came in handy when we arrived early and most other spots were taken up.

It was a very enjoyable trip and stay

Pros: Accommodation does not provide breakfast. BUT it sure provide great Keurig coffee. And the room is unique. Definitely not your typical hotel room. Location is perfect. Everything within 10 minutes easy walk.

Cons: Not sure. Will have to think about it......
