The Walper Hotel

Pros: Lovely staff and great local transport links and shopping.

Loved our stay

Pros: Location was excellent. Room very clean & spacious! Bathroom also fabulous

Cons: In the room, there was no place to put the suitcase such as a luggage rack. There were not drawers to put your clothes/ things. Therefore everything ended up on the floor.

Pros: Location, staff, amenities, decor, downstairs restaurants, walking distance to great food and centre in the square

Cons: Noise- none of us slept. Weve all travelled extensively and were surprised by how loud outside noise travelled (even with ear plugs and noise machines going). Will caveat this was wintertime and a streetplow kept coming by so maybe absent the plow the other typical street noise would have been manageable. I also note we faced street so perhaps if your room faced inner courtyard or back might have been quieter.

Great comfortable stay.

Pros: The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The location was central Kitchener. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of.

This place is warm, beautiful, and close to lots of pubs!

Pros: The room was spotless and welcoming, with lots of personality in details like the quirky wallpaper. I want to acknowledge that the staff member at the front desk, Juliet, was incredibly personable and helpful! She answered questions about near-by pubs and was a total pro! We were really impressed by this hotel and would certainly recommend it. Super value for the boutique feel. :D

Downtown Kitchener's Finest

Pros: This is a fantastic hotel. It's located right in the heart of Downtown Kitchener, within walking distance to basically everything. The restaurant and cafes below were fantastic too! The rooms were well decorated and clean for the most part and the beds were comfortable. We appreciated the exceptionally clean mini fridge in the room. The soap/shampoo/conditioner/body cream in the bathroom smelled nice. Staff were all super friendly and hospitable and we appreciated the early check in. Thank you for going above and beyond for us!! We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

Cons: I feel like my criticisms are a bit of a stretch... it really was a great hotel. The grout in the corners of the shower was kind of gross and could probably use a deep clean. The beds were comfortable overall, but it took a moment to find a comfortable position that wasn't too lumpy. The mattress wasn't new but it wasn't awful. It was good enough. I also found the room on the smaller size but it was just as a place to sleep so it really didn't matter. I didn't like that I had to leave. ...:)

Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great.
