Pros: Relaxing getaway and a great place to pretend you're somewhere tropical

Cons: Everything was great except it took calling 8 times over 3 days to reach someone by phone and the waterslide was closed.

Little oasis near downtown

Pros: A little oasis in the middle of the city, great for a little one-night escape! Pool and hot jacuzzi are amazing, and everyone is always nice and friendly. Lots of parking and in-house restaurant is really good.

Cons: Nothing negative, maybe only if you're a couple wanting a relaxing and quiet evening, not the best place since there's always lots of families with kids. And again, that's not a negative, only something to keep in mind.

Pros: What I liked most is that the kids loved it. The pool, waterslide, and holiday activities were a huge hit, and they genuinely thought the experience was “epic.” The atrium-style pool area creates a fun, high-energy, tropical atmosphere that is clearly designed with kids in mind. While the hotel itself felt just okay to me personally, it does succeed at what it’s meant to do—keep children entertained. The environment is loud and busy most of the time, and I had a very poor night’s sleep, which was disappointing given the high price point, but for families prioritizing kid-focused fun, it does deliver.

Cons: The overall experience did not match the price being charged for the rooms. From arrival onward, there were several issues that added unnecessary frustration. The check-in process was extremely long, there were not enough luggage carts available, and staff interactions were generally underwhelming rather than welcoming. The on-site restaurant had very limited hours, which was inconvenient when trying to quickly feed children. The vending machines were also empty and visibly dirty, which didn’t inspire much confidence. In our room, the bed sagged noticeably in the middle, making it uncomfortable for two people to sleep together. The in-room jacuzzi tub was not clean, and it was missing a protective guard around the fan—my leg was caught several times, which hurt and felt unsafe. The pool area needs better planning and guest flow. Adult-only hours during the final hour of pool time would allow everyone to enjoy the facilities, or alternatively, a larger adults-only hot tub. The hot tub was consistently overcrowded with long lines and mostly filled with young children. While lifeguards monitored the number of bathers, ages were not enforced. The hot tub railing was also loose and moved significantly when exiting, which is a safety concern. The hot tub jet activation button is placed too far away, meaning you lose your spot when leaving the tub to turn it on if staff do not activate it. The waterslide—the main draw of the hotel—was not open nearly enough. Adding cubbies near the pool for personal belongings would free up chairs currently being used only to hold towels and sandals. More dry activities for kids, such as a few free-play arcade games, seating, or an additional kid-friendly hangout or climbing area, would help reduce congestion in the pool area.

Would definitely stay again!

Pros: The service at Shelly's bar and grill was excellent at breakfast time. The menu was also reasonably priced and had good options. I used the concierge phone service to get more blankets and towels which were speedy and staff member that came was very friendly. Overall, I thought the hotel did a great job of accommodating families with young children - from the pool, arcade, renovated rooms, friendly staff and restaurant!

Cons: The only thing that I thought could have been better was the safety at the slide. I thought that the lifeguard at the bottom of the pool was perched on a rock and not exactly in the best position to stay focused or help if needed.

Cheaper than great Wolf lodge

Pros: The pool was great, very entertaining for kids. The staff were courteous and helped us quickly and the room service was delicious.

Cons: The pool was extremely crowded and the magician that was performing was terrible my kid couldn't even watch it. I also did not like that in my room 170 the fan was so loud all night even when I turned the system completely off. Luckily I had ear plugs. Also I booked on Booking.com and it seems they gave my info away because I had multiple scam attempts from scammers who had my first and last name, date of stay and booking number. I didn't fall for it but I would book directly from now on.

Pros: We had an amazing experience all around. Staff are kind and go above and beyond for their guest. The rooms are a good size, very clean with comfortable beds. The atmosphere is tranquil and quiet even when there are conferences, weddings, parties, etc. The pool area is very clean and relaxing. Our small children loved the coy pond and huge lighthouse waterslide. There is a small arcade as well. Fun for the whole family. Shelley's restaurant is attached to the hotel and has amazing food and great staff with fast service. We will definitely be returning!

Cons: If I had to say anything negative...and it's more of a preference for myself than anything, but there is no sink in the washroom to wash your hands. The sink is located outside the washroom. However, the washroom has both a really nice shower and separate large bath tub.

BEST Western For a Reason!

Pros: There was a system malfunction at the time of check-in but I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism of the staff who worked as well as they could to calm the crowd forming around the lobby and eventually resumed the process once rebooted. They managed to make a stressful few moments for all, a lot better. At least from my standpoint.

Cons: My only minor inconveniences were that the fan in the bathroom was really loud and rattly while trying to have a nice, relaxing bath, and it took a really long time for the water to fill the tub enough to relax. I was almost ready to get out by the time the tub had filled to my satisfaction. And, the remote for the tv in my room 242 wasn't working and had to use the buttons on the side of the tv, which luckily were easily accessible, as compared to others I've had this issue with (not exclusively in THIS hotel, but as well as others).
