Excellent value
Pros: Gabby was very pleasant ☺️ Very close to many toronto attractions. We left our car parked there in the secured/gated spot and either walked or Uber around the city. They have done a great job renovating using high quality materials. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Cons: Parking area is off a narrow lane behind the property and a little tight to make the turn through the garage door in a mid-sized suv. Reversing in probably would have been easier 🤔 The stairs up to the unit are a bit on the steeper side. No issue for us, but could be an issue for older people or anyone with compromised mobility. The unit is on a well kept street and quiet area but...The neighborhood is very close proximity to many toronto housing shelters for homeless people. We didn't have any issues walking past them. Nearby Sherbourne street in particular...should be avoided if you are not accustomed to or uncomfortable seeing social housing and homeless shelters that are common in large metropolitan cities like Toronto. We chose to walk mostly but also Uber around and fares were only around 10 dollars since everything is so close 🙌

A lovely inviting home.
Pros: A clean, comfortable spacious room. A host that was friendly and helpful. Lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, public transport and a beautiful conservatory all a short walking distance.

A great place & lovely hosts only about 1/2 hr walk from downtown Toronto.
Pros: Fantastic sized room, comfy bed & seating area. The shower was great too. The hosts were very kind & picked us up from the airport & even stopped for us to pick up food on the way home as it was getting late which was extremely welcome. There was water in the fridge, tea, coffee & a bowl of treats. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Cons: It woukd be great if there was somewhere to sit outside, but other then that for a short stay it’s really good.

comfortable bed, clean room and great host
Pros: Gabby was a great host; the room was sparkling clean, had a comfortable bed, and included very nice private parking at no extra cost. We loved the location, it was within walking distance of downtown. We also loved the little details in the room, such as the selection of teas and snacks :)
Cons: The microwave or a stovetop would be a nice addition to the room, but we managed without it with a kettle and a coffee machine.

My stay was perfect: a lovely apartment, kind hosts, and great location close to the city.
Pros: I really liked the apartment, the kindness of the owners, and the proximity to the city.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like; everything was fine.

Great hosts and property
Pros: Fantastic host, the room was large and the property very clean. The host let us stay for a few extra hours on our departure day which was much appreciated.
Cons: Although the street that the property is on is great unfortunately the area surrounding the street feels unsafe after dark. There are many homeless people around which meant we had to take Ubers back to the property each night.

We loved Gabby's Place!
Pros: The Appartment was amongst one of the cleanest we've ever been to, which made for a very pleasant atmosphere. The appartment also felt very safe, homely, and cozy, and we really enjoyed unwinding there after a long journey. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and Gabby and Ciprian helped with all our requests. A Bowl of sweets and treats (as well as water, tea, coffee, sugar, sweetener, and creamer) was provided free of charge, which really really saved our evening after our extensive travel day on our way to Toronto. The Bathroom and Bed were very clean and comfortable, there was a good hairdryer. The Appartment is 15-20 mins away from downtown by foot. We didn't use public transport but it is probably faster that way;) We had everything we needed and would come back any day!
Cons: There are no issues with the appartment itself, but one of the two adjacent streets (Dundas St.) has a shelter where people with addiction problems live. They have done absolutely nothing to us, but it might be uncomfortable walking through the street, especially at night. It is not necessary to walk through Dundas St., as the other adjacent street, Gerrard St., also connects the city and the appartment, and feels much safer.

Fabulous short visit to Toronto
Pros: The bed is divine! There’s plugs next to the bed!! Don’t want to give all the little touches away but there was an abundance of nice wee things to make us feel welcome. The grey embroidered towels were so appreciated thank you <3 Decor is gorgeous, so blooming clean, well equipped flat and just lovely. Obsessed with the kettle, I’ve ordered one for my home. Gabby and her family live downstairs, they’re all just so lovely and welcoming. She was such a considerate host, it felt like nothing was too much. Thank you for having us. The rave reviews are warranted.
Cons: Not really a negative thing because it was my fault but just a word of warning from a clumsy girly: watch your left elbow when you sit down in the bathroom, I banged mine quite hard on the stick out bit of wall and it was a bit nippy! Just a note, the area warrants the use of taxis / Ubers to and from the attractions, particularly in the evenings for sure. That we don’t live nearby so can’t come back all the time!
